With spring right around the corner, there are lots of new things popping up around camp. We have some new projects, new four legged friends and new members of the Green Cove family!
To start, we are thrilled to introduce you to Ev(pronounced Ee-vee) Schwartz! Ev joined the Green Cove Family back in February, as the new Assistant Director. Caitlin has decided to pursue a Master’s Degree, so has handed the reins over to Ev, and we all are excited to have her on board. This summer, you will see Ev making the rounds to all the activities, so be sure to stop her and introduce yourself!
Meet Green Cove’s newest horses! We are so excited for you to meet these new friends in a few short months. Molly, Dobby, Luna, and Quaffle all get their names from the Harry Potter series. And they are getting ready to show you a “magical” time at the barn this summer!
We’ve been busy here at camp with many new projects, including a new Main Lodge porch, and rebuilding Thunderhead cabin! We’ll keep you updated with pictures as the construction goes on.
Green Cove is so special to all of us, and we’d like to hear what Green Cove means to you! Campers, please fill out the survey below and see your words create a special project coming this summer!
Caitlin Riley is a member of our year round staff as the Green Cove Assistant Director. While camp is in session, she works particularly with Activity Programs to ensure that the different programs mesh well together. Caitlin keeps an eye on the trips available thru the different activities, and the instructional programs for each area. She also works to coordinate trips that involve multiple activities on both intermediate and advanced levels. During the off season, she spends time traveling to recruit both campers and staff. She worked as a trip leader and cabin counselor for a camp in Northern Minnesota during her college years. It was during those summers that Caitlin recognized her passion for working in the outdoor industry. Since graduating in 2007, she has traveled all around the globe, teaching outdoor education in a variety of settings. During her free time, Caitlin loves to spend time outdoors, hiking, biking and running the trails.
